This policy describes how Pear collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Pear application.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address and any profile data you provide via Clerk (our authentication provider) when accepting an invitation.
- Communication preferences — phone number and additional email addresses you enter to receive notifications, plus your channel and subscription selections.
- Application data — projects, tasks, incidents, comments, and other content you create within Pear.
- Usage logs — standard server logs including IP address, request times, and error information used for debugging and security.
How we use information
- To operate the application and provide its features.
- To deliver email and SMS notifications you have explicitly opted in to via your Communication Preferences.
- To respond to support requests.
- To detect and prevent abuse of the service.
SMS data handling
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent collected through Pear's Communication Preferences are used exclusively to deliver operational notifications about system incidents to which the user has subscribed.
Phone numbers and SMS opt-in data will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. They are shared only with our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of sending the messages you have opted in to receive.
You may revoke SMS consent at any time by replying STOP to any Pear message or by signing in and disabling the SMS channel in your Communication Preferences.
Sub-processors and service providers
We share data with the following providers strictly to operate the service:
- Clerk — authentication and account management.
- Resend — email delivery.
- Twilio — SMS delivery.
- Neon / PostgreSQL host — database storage.
- Vercel — application hosting and logs.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. We do not sell user data to anyone.

You can:

- Opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP or unchecking the SMS channel in your Communication Preferences.
- Opt out of email notifications by unchecking the Email channel in your Communication Preferences.
Data retention
We retain account and application data for as long as your account is active. When an account is deleted, associated data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or security reasons.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active users.
